"If I Ever Autumn in Love" is the debut single past American R&B-soul quartet Shai, released in 1992 from their debut album of the same proper name. It reached number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1992 and peaked at number one on the Billboard R&B chart.[two] It spent eight weeks at number 2 on the Hot 100, which at the time was the second-virtually number of weeks that a song held the position without topping the chart, backside Foreigner's "Waiting for a Girl Similar You lot". The song was as well their merely top-40 striking in the UK, peaking at number 36.[3]

"If I Always Autumn in Love" was covered in 1996 as a duet between British boy band Due east 17 and singer-songwriter Gabrielle, completed with a backing runway. Renamed "If Y'all Ever", the comprehend peaked at number ii on the UK Singles Chart and also peaked within the top x of the charts in Ireland, Latvia, and Sweden. The vocal received a platinum certification from the British Phonographic Manufacture in September 2019 for sales and streams exceeding 600,000.
The vocal was the start unmarried from E 17'southward beginning Greatest Hits compilation, Around the World Hit Singles: The Journey So Far, and was as well the fourth single from Gabrielle's 2d cocky-titled album. It was the highest-charting single from both aforementioned albums.
